Avalon Beach Replenishment Work Begins Monday
Avalon's beach replenishment project is officially underway starting Monday, June 9, following the completion of emergency bridge repairs. Heavy equipment will arrive via Avalon Boulevard, and sand backpassing operations will begin overnight between 10pm and 8am on weekdays. Beach access from 9th Street to just south of the Fishing Pier will be restricted during these hours. Full details inside.

Avalon Sand Backpassing Project: What Homeowners & Vacationers Need to Know
Avalon’s sand back passing project is scheduled for June 2025 to restore the eroded north-end beaches. Fred M. Schiavone Construction will complete the project once county bridge repairs allow equipment access. Work will take place overnight from 10 PM to 8 AM on weekdays, with beach path closures in affected areas. Beach replenishment is on track, but will not be completed before Memorial Day weekend, which may impact early-season visitors. Stay updated at www.avalonboro.net.
