There is a quiet reality in Cape May County that many families know well: youth sports are powerful, but they are not always affordable. Registration fees, travel costs, equipment, and private training can quickly put organized sports out of reach.
That is where Blue Kids comes in.
Founded in 2023, Blue Kids was created with a clear mission: every child in Cape May County should have access to professional-level sports instruction, regardless of financial circumstances. The organization operates on a simple, thoughtful model. Instead of long seasonal commitments, Blue Kids hosts quarterly clinics in sports like basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. Families can sign up for a single event or attend multiple sessions throughout the year. There is no ongoing obligation, and participation is completely confidential.
The goal is straightforward. Deliver high-quality coaching. Remove the stigma. Make it easy for kids to show up and play.
What’s Coming Up
Blue Kids’ next free sports clinic is right around the corner on February 28, bringing together local youth and experienced coaches for a focused, skill-based training session. These events are professionally run, organized, and structured to give kids real instruction — not just open gym time.
Each clinic is designed to:
- Build confidence and fundamentals
- Provide exposure to advanced coaching
- Create a positive, encouraging environment
- Ensure no child is turned away due to cost
Spots fill quickly, and every event requires funding to secure facilities, coaching, equipment, and insurance coverage.
Meet Coach Will Wareham

One of the coaches supporting Blue Kids is Will Wareham, a respected basketball figure in Cape May County. Known locally for his leadership and commitment to player development, Wareham brings both experience and heart to the program.
Coaches like Wareham volunteer their time and talent because they understand what structured sports can mean for a young athlete. Skill development is important. But so are discipline, accountability, teamwork, and mentorship.
Blue Kids partners with professionals who align with its mission: deliver strong instruction without judgment, and meet kids where they are.
Why Sponsorship Is Critical
Blue Kids does not charge families. That means every clinic depends directly on local business sponsorships and community donors.
The need is real.
Cape May County is often viewed through a summer lens of tourism and second homes. But year-round families live here, work here, and raise their children here. Not every household has the flexibility to invest in travel teams, private lessons, or seasonal sports fees. Blue Kids fills that gap.
Sponsors make it possible to:
- Cover facility rentals
- Fund coaching stipends
- Provide equipment and training materials
- Keep participation completely free

For businesses, sponsorship is more than logo placement. It is a direct investment in local youth. It is visibility among families. It is alignment with a mission centered on access and opportunity.
If you are a Cape May County business owner looking for meaningful local impact, Blue Kids is actively seeking sponsors for upcoming clinics. Sponsorship opportunities close on February 18.

Every contribution helps ensure another child steps onto the court, field, or diamond with access to the kind of coaching that builds both skill and confidence. Blue Kids is not about trophies. It is about opportunity. And with the right sponsors behind it, that opportunity continues to grow across Cape May County.
