Avalon Beach Tag Pricing

  • Seasonal: $32 until May 31, then $40
  • Weekly: 17
  • Daily: $8
  • Beach tags are required for everyone 12 and older from May 24 through September 2, 2024.

Summer 2024 is almost here, get the scoop on pricing and information for Avalon, NJ beach access.

General Information

  • Avalon and Stone Harbor beach tags are reciprocal and are accepted in both towns throughout the season.
  • Beach tags are required for anyone accessing Avalon’s beaches ages 12 and up.
  • Free beach tags are offered to all veterans and active members of the United States Armed Forces. Veterans and active military need to show DD-214 or appropriate identification to a beach checker or can provide documentation to the Beach Tag Booth to be granted seasonal access. 
  • Surf Chairs are provided through the Surf Chair Program via the Avalon Civic Club, and can be used for all beachgoers who are physically challenged. These can be booked by calling the Avalon Beach Patrol at 609-967-7587.
  • Dogs are not permitted on the Avalon beach, boardwalk, or dunes anytime between March 1 and September 30.

Surfing is permitted at 30th street, between 16th and 17th street, 20th street, 12th street, and 63rd street.

Avalon, NJ Beach Information

  • Avalon Protected Beaches: 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 26, 28, 30*, 32, 35, 28, 40, 43, 50, 57, 61, 65, 69, 73, 76, 79 (*Only surfing is permitted at the 30th Street beach.)
  • Raft Beaches: 9, 12, 18, 24, 28, 35, 40, 43, 50, 61, 73, 79
  • Surfing Beaches: 30th Street, Between 16-17th Street, 20th Street, Either side of the 12th Street lifeguard stand, 63rd Street
  • Other Water Activities - kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and bodyboard/bellyboards with skegs are prohibited on any beach throughout Avalon during the hours of 10am-5pm.

When & Where to Purchase Your 2024 Avalon, NJ Seasonal Beach Tag

Avalon Tax Collector’s Office 

Open Weekdays through April 26, M-F - 8:15am-4:15pm
Payments are accepted via cash, check, or credit card.

Avalon Beach Tag Booth, 3100 Dune Drive

Weekends starting March 30
Daily starting April 27

By Mail (accepted until May 10)

Mail a check to the Avalon Tax Collector’s Office (3100 Dune Drive), and include a self-addressed envelope with your payment. You will receive a receipt that you can turn in to the Avalon Beach Tag Booth in exchange for your tags.
