We all know the true struggle of the beach path “lug.” Beach chairs, water toys, coolers, sandwiches, shovels, towels, books, etc. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and everyone is enthusiastic as they start the walk toward the ocean. It’s going to be a great beach day.
But at the end of the day…everyone is tired.

Matthew Hladczuk is the founder of Beach Set Up Guy, a business venture he created as a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. After graduating high school in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Matthew decided to take a gap year before beginning college and started planning his post-graduation summer at the shore.
As he searched for summer employment, he created the idea of a beach set-up concierge service that would help tenants enjoy a beach day, without the dread of getting their equipment to and from.
Because let’s be honest, a perfect beach day is always slightly marred by the sweaty, whining, walk home.
As Matthew enters his third summer season in Avalon and Stone Harbor, his business is expanding to include three full-time staff members, expanded services into Sea Isle City, and hundreds of 5-star reviews. In fact, business is booming so much that he is currently searching for a year-round manager and staff member that can help with operations and bookings, with a focus on shoulder season services. So what does Beach Set Up Guy do? The lugging!
He gets your beach chairs and equipment TO the beach, locating a prime spot between the hours of 8am and 11am. All you have to do is head to the beach and look for his flags marking your set-up! And then when the day is done, you stand up and walk home - no rinsing off the chairs and toys, no lugging, and no whining.
You arrive home after a great beach day, and your beach equipment is returned between the hours of 4pm and 7pm.
Take it up a notch, and hire his crew for his custom move-in and move-out services. So you pull into your vacation home driveway, and Matthew is there to assist with unpacking the car, moving your bags to your dedicated rooms, and prepping your home for the best vacation yet.
